Bereavement Counselling
The loss of someone significant and close to us is one of the most difficult as well as inevitable events of everybody’s life. How we respond to this loss is highly personal. There are no fixed rules for grieving just as there are no exact time limits. It comes in all shapes and forms, it may involve conflicting emotions, anger, deep sadness, guilt or the feeling of numbness. No one can tell you that you must grieve in a certain “correct” way or that you “should be over it” by a certain time.
Coping with grief can be very challenging and at times overwhelming. It requires a lot of energy from our brain and our whole system to accommodate the change and make sense of it. You may feel drained, easily fatigued and unmotivated to engage in your usual activities. Bereavement counselling can help you explore and normalize your feelings. It can support you while you are walking “through the valley of the shadow of death.”
